Can I still get a paper card or is AHA only issuing Electronic Cards?

As of April 2018, the American Heart Association has made the switch to electronic cards (e-cards).  There are no more paper cards.  You will receive information on how to access your e-card when you register for the class.  You will be able to access your e-card the same day after you successfully complete the class.

2015 AHA Updated Material
BLS 2015 Student ManualHeart Saver ManualPer AHA:
Each student must have the current appropriate course textbook readily available for use before, during, and after the course.

Can I purchase the book before the class to review the material?
Sure. You can contact the instructor and arrange to stop by the location where the class is being held and purchase the book so that you can review the material before class.

Can I get the e-book instead of a hard copy of the book?
Sure, you can purchase and download the book at the following site:

BLS Provider E-Book
https://ebooks.heart.org/product/bls-provider-manual-ebook50025959

Heartsaver CPR/AED E-Book
https://ebooks.heart.org/product/heartsaver-cpr-aed-student-ebook50046011

Can I purchase the book when I get to class?
Yes, just let the instructor know when registering for the class and she will have one available for you to purchase at the class.

BLS Provider Manual $15.00
Heartsaver CPR/AED Student Manual $5.00

Why does the Heartsaver CPR/AED Class cost more than the Teacher K-12 Heartsaver CPR/AED Class?
American Heart Association implemented a major price increase (in 2018) on the cost of the Heartsaver CPR/AED Certification cards. They reduced the cost of the student textbook for that class, but increased the cost of the cards.

What if I'm just renewing my card, do I still need to take the full course?
Yes. The current courses teach the new science guidelines that were released in 2015.

I need a First Aid Class in addition to a CPR class, can I take them both on the same day?
You will complete Part 1 of First Aid at www.onlineaha.org and then I can complete Part 2&3 with you either before or after the CPR class you register for, if my schedule allows. Contact me before you register for CPR to see if I can get you in for the Blended Learning Skills.

Are there different First Aid Classes?
Yes, there is Pediatric First Aid, which is the one you need if you work in childcare, and there is the Heartsaver (adult) First Aid, which is for anyone needing First Aid as part of a job requirement.

How can I tell if I have one of the current Student Manuals? It should look like one of these:   [+] CLICK TO ENLARGE

UPDATED MATERIAL WILL BE RELEASED SOON.

I keep trying to reach someone in the office, but it always goes to voicemail, what should I do? You should leave a voicemail. My office phone is set to go straight to voicemail. So, if you need to reach me, please leave me a message and I will call you back, usually within 24 -36 hours. For the quickest response, please text Cindy 219-865-5596

I want to register for a class on the calendar, but I'm not sure if it's full, should I call to check if there's room before I sign up? If a class is full, it will be marked FULL on the calendar. So, unless you see FULL, there are spots available, go ahead and register on the website.

What time should I arrive at class? You should arrive 5-15 minutes before start of class to get signed in. Class time starts promptly at time stated and late arrivals (after class has begun) will be considered a 'no show' and will not be able to attend class. American Heart Association requires that to received a certification you must attend the entire class.

How do I know if my registration went through? After you fill out the registration/payment information and it successfully goes through you will get this screen:
